Pacsafe Anti-Theft Bag Review

So a company called Pacsafe has bags that are supposed to be “anti-theft” including “tamper proof zippers”. Sorry, but I don’t think so.

The problem is that when a laptop is stolen it is usually out of the bag and in the open, or the bag is taken with the laptop. Slash proof straps, tamper proof zippers and “eXomesh whatever” is not going to help in most cases of laptop theft. This is not the only company trying to sell theft proof laptop bags, but unless it has the ability to remotely activate a remote tazer they will not help in the “real world” and most of these seem pretty scammy to me.

If you are carrying nuclear launch codes on your laptop I would recommend something more along the lines of the Laptop Safe, which comes complete with a hand cuff and anchored, armored brief case. Of course..this might also make you more of a target.
